Two documents, two purposes

  • eVisa: your authorization to enter Cuba. Issued by MINREX, tied to your passport, valid 90 days.
  • D'Viajeros: a declaration covering health, customs, and contact information. Free, online, submitted within 7 days of departure.

The order things happen

  1. Buy and receive your eVisa (days or weeks before departure).
  2. Submit D'Viajeros within 7 days of departure (some carriers want it within 72 hours).
  3. At your departure airport, the airline checks passport + eVisa + D'Viajeros QR at check-in.
  4. On arrival in Cuba, the immigration officer verifies your passport and eVisa.
  5. After immigration, your D'Viajeros QR is scanned at the health/customs desk.

Common mistakes that pair the wrong way

  • Submitting D'Viajeros for the right person but listing the eVisa number incorrectly.
  • Submitting D'Viajeros before the eVisa has arrived, then never updating it.
  • Filling out one D'Viajeros for a family but expecting it to cover everyone — each traveler needs their own.
