Two documents, two purposes
- eVisa: your authorization to enter Cuba. Issued by MINREX, tied to your passport, valid 90 days.
- D'Viajeros: a declaration covering health, customs, and contact information. Free, online, submitted within 7 days of departure.
The order things happen
- Buy and receive your eVisa (days or weeks before departure).
- Submit D'Viajeros within 7 days of departure (some carriers want it within 72 hours).
- At your departure airport, the airline checks passport + eVisa + D'Viajeros QR at check-in.
- On arrival in Cuba, the immigration officer verifies your passport and eVisa.
- After immigration, your D'Viajeros QR is scanned at the health/customs desk.
Common mistakes that pair the wrong way
- Submitting D'Viajeros for the right person but listing the eVisa number incorrectly.
- Submitting D'Viajeros before the eVisa has arrived, then never updating it.
- Filling out one D'Viajeros for a family but expecting it to cover everyone — each traveler needs their own.
