Frequently asked questions
How much does a Cuba eVisa cost in 2026?
Roughly US$85 through authorized providers. Prices vary slightly by issuer; rush processing carries a premium.
How long is a Cuba eVisa valid?
90 days from your date of entry, single entry. The visa itself must be used within 180 days of issuance.
How long does it take to receive the eVisa?
Typical delivery is 24–72 hours after payment. Apply at least 5–7 days before departure to be safe.
Do U.S. citizens need a Cuba eVisa?
Yes. The eVisa requirement is set by Cuba and applies to U.S. travelers like everyone else. U.S. travelers also need to qualify under one of OFAC's 12 categories.
Can Cuban-born travelers use the online eVisa?
No. Since July 1, 2024, anyone born in Cuba must obtain travel authorization through a Cuban consulate.
Do children need their own eVisa?
Yes. Every traveler — including infants — needs an individual eVisa tied to their own passport.
What happens if there is a typo on my eVisa?
Contact your provider immediately. Most issuers can correct minor typos within 24 hours of issuance at no charge. After 24 hours, expect a re-issue fee.
Can I extend my stay beyond 90 days?
Yes. You can request an extension at a Cuban immigration office for an additional 90 days. Bring your passport, your eVisa, and proof of accommodation.
Is the eVisa refundable if I cancel my trip?
Refund policies depend on the issuing provider and on whether the visa has been transmitted to Cuban authorities. Ask before buying.
Can I use one eVisa for multiple trips?
No. The standard tourist eVisa is single-entry. If you leave Cuba and want to re-enter, you need a new eVisa.
What if I lose the printed copy?
Re-print from the original confirmation email. Cuban airport Wi-Fi is unreliable, so do this before you leave home.
Does the eVisa replace my passport?
No. You always need a valid passport with at least six months of remaining validity past your return date.
